JAMB Directs Institutions To Update Portal To Accept New Post-UTME Candidates

Have you been unable to register for your school’s Post-UTME screening exercise after changing your course or institution? Do you always experience “No Record found” each time you try to register for the post-UTME screening exercise of your school of choice?

All candidates [UTME/DE] who have made changes in either their course or institution through JAMB and have not been able to register for the Post-UTME screening exercise of their schools due to issue of “No Record Found” and other related issues each time they try to apply for the Post-UTME screening of the school they have changed to have been asked by JAMB to be patient as the problem is due to the fact that the schools they changed to have not downloaded the updated list of candidates that recently changed to them.

This means that these schools do not have the list of all the students that have applied for their admission.

JAMB has therefore called on universities and other tertiary institutions in the country to regularly download and update their record at any given time in other to remain up to speed with the list of applicants seeking admission into their institution as forwarded to them by the board.

According to the Zonal Coordinator JAMB in Katsina state, Mr Mohammed kankia the schools have been informed through the Central Admission Processing Systems, CAPS, that to download or refresh the lists and upload them on their portals on daily basis, but this instruction seem to have been largely ignored’.

When asked what the board intends to do should the institutions fail to comply with the directive and the students denied the opportunity to participate in the ongoing UTME screening exercise, the JAMB boss urged such disenfranchised candidate to petition the board, promising that they would look into it.

He added that a candidate may even apply for a change of institution even as at 11pm assuming the portal is expected to close by 12 pm same day, If a candidate is willfully denied opportunity to access and register for the screening exercise he can petition the board’’

He stressed that if any institution no longer want to go on admitting candidates the institution can inform JAMB to block their portals.
