JAMB 2017 Candidates May Sit For A Mock Exam Before Actual UTME

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that the body has been working to see if it will be possible to conduct a mock examination before the actual 2017 UTME.

This was revealed by the JAMB boss Prof Ishaq Oloyede after a meeting with stake holders and some JAMB officials. According to him, conducting a mock examination will help the board to test the new technologies it has put in place and give opportunity to candidates who are anxious to test themselves before the actual examination to do so.

He mentioned that the board is expecting about 1.7 million candidates to register for the examination and therefore need to put adequate measure in place to ensure that the number of participating in the examination each day are adequately catered for.

He expressed satisfaction over the fact that the stake holders are in support of some of the steps and changes the bi9rad has made so far. According to him, he has been skeptical as to whether or not the board is making steps in the right direction but with the affirmation of the stake holders the board is now more confident to proceed with the sales of 2017 JAMB UTME registration form which is expected to commence soon.

He added that the board has been working towards increasing the capacity of the CBT centres to ensure their effectiveness in accommodation more candidates for each day of the exam.

He however added that this does not mean that the 2017 UTME will be totally hitch free but with time, the board will be able to surmount all the challenges.
