Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan SAN has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Ilesa, Osun State.
In a letter to the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Registrar of the institution and Secretary to its Board of Trustees, Dapo Adeniyi, extended the University’s congratulations to Professor Amupitan over his appointment to the distinguished position, which he says comes with great responsibilities and honor.
Amupitan who is a Professor of Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Jos and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), University of Jos.
According to the Board of Trustees, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Professor Amupitan’s selection reflects the trust and confidence that both the Church and the University place in his leadership abilities. The appointment to this pivotal role, which was made on behalf of the Visitor to the University and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, was also influenced by Professor Amupitan's dedication to the academia, wealth of experience, and exemplary track record.
According to the communication by the Registrar, the University believes that Professor Amupitan's insights and vision will contribute significantly to the growth and development of the institution. The appointment which is for a term of four years, is expected to bring to bear the transformative influence of Professor Amupitan on the University's governance, strategic direction, and overall well-being.
Similarly, the JABU Board of Trustees believe that Professor Amupitan's commitment to excellence aligns seamlessly with the values upheld by the University and are confident that his tenure will be marked by achievements that will further elevate the institution's academic standing.
While looking forward to fruitful collaboration with Professor Amupitan, the University anticipates that it will harness his expertise to navigate challenges and seize new opportunities that will avail to the institution in the ever-evolving landscape of Nigerian higher education.
