To launch a new initiative to provide opportunities to biomolecular scientists in Africa, the IUBMB is offering up to five fellowships for trainees from any country in Africa to attend the 2022 FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference. This event, “The perfect tandem: How technology expands the frontiers of biomedicine”, is hosted by the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS), in Spain, on 16-18 November.
About International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB)
The first Congress of Biochemistry was held in 1949 in Cambridge, UK, and was inspired by German-born British biochemist Sir Hans Adolf Krebs as a means of bringing together biochemists who had been separated by World War II from collaborating. At the time, biochemistry was blossoming as a discipline and was seeking its own recognition as a Union within the International Council for Science (ISC).
