Insecurity: Kaduna state suspends schools' resumption indefinitely

Kaduna State Government has postponed the resumption of schools in the state indefinitely following incessant cases of banditry attacks on schools across the state.

The state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai made the announcement at a stakeholders meeting attended by members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), as well as professional and community-based associations on Monday, June 26.

According to El-Rufai, the decision was taken due to the ongoing aggressive military operation against bandits in most parts of the state. He further explained that his administration is committed to safeguarding vulnerable children who have been victims of their attacks in recent.

He further revealed that the military deployed more troops to the state for the operation and warned the residents to be vigilant and mindful of unknown faces in their midst as fleeing bandits might infiltrate their communities.
