The Jigawa State government has ordered the immediate closure of all public schools following the fear of a possible attack on schools in the state by terrorists.
Schools in the state were abruptly closed on Wednesday, August 17, while pupils were taking their terminal examinations causing apprehension and panic among residents and students.
Many of the students were seen stranded, waiting to be evacuated out of town.
The spokesperson for the state’s Ministry of Education, Wasilu Umar, confirmed the closure of the schools.
