Imo State Polytechnic has announced that it is now accepting applications for its part-time National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session. This initiative is an integral part of the Polytechnic’s Continuing Education and Part-time Studies (Weekend) Programmes, based at its Owerri Campus.

A Broad Spectrum of Available Courses

The polytechnic offers a range of courses across various disciplines. Here are the details of the schools and the respective courses:

A. School of Agriculture

Offering both ND and HND in:

  • Animal Production Technology
  • HND in Animal Health Technology

B. School of Business

Offering both ND and HND in:

  • Accounting Technology
  • Banking and Finance
  • Business Administration
  • Cooperative Economics
  • Public Administration
  • Marketing
  • Office Technology Management

C. School of Applied Sciences

Offering both ND and HND in:

  • Computer Science
  • ND in Hospitality (Hotel) Management Technology

D. School of Environmental Sciences

Offering both ND and HND in:

  • Management and Evaluation

E. Certificate Courses

  • Certificate in Fisheries Technology (6 months)
  • Certificate in Poultry Production (3 months)
  • Certificate in Livestock Food Formulation (3 months and 6 months)

Entry Requirements

The polytechnic has set clear entry requirements for both ND and HND programmes:

ND Programmes: Candidates are expected to have O’level certification (WAEC GCE, NABTEB, NECO, or any other relevant approved O’level certificate) obtained in a maximum of two sittings.

HND Programmes: Applicants must have completed and obtained an ND Certificate in a relevant discipline.

  1. Pay an application fee of N5,500 into the following bank account:

  2. Bring the payment teller to the Admission Unit (Weekend Programme) for documentation.
