IDPIL Scholarship and Bursary awards, 2024

In its endeavor to foster a peaceful and prosperous community through high-quality education, the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL) has established a scholarship/bursary scheme. The primary aim of this initiative is to provide educational support to both indigenes and residents of the Ikorodu Division who are pursuing studies in various public tertiary institutions across Nigeria. This scholarship seeks to incentivize remarkable academic performance and excellence, thus cultivating a conducive environment for human development and investment growth within the Ikorodu division.

Purpose

The IDPIL Scholarship/Bursary Scheme aims to address two fundamental objectives:

1. To promote higher quality education and establish a hub for human resources development within the Ikorodu Division.

2. To support financially challenged students in their pursuit of education, particularly in light of the post-COVID-19 economic challenges, which have significantly impacted many families' ability to meet educational expenses.

Scholarship/Bursary Categories

The IDPIL Scholarship/Bursary Scheme comprises three distinct categories:

1. Scholarship Scheme: This category is based on excellent academic performance and is open to both indigenes and residents of the Ikorodu Division. The scholarship provides an annual award of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000:00) throughout the duration of the recipient's program. Applicants undergo an aptitude test and oral interview to ascertain their suitability for the award.

2. Bursary 1: Similar to the Scholarship Scheme, Bursary 1 is based on academic performance and is available to both indigenes and residents. However, it provides a one-time award of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) for a single academic session.

3. Bursary 2: This category is exclusively reserved for financially disadvantaged indigenes of the Ikorodu Division. Applicants are not required to meet specific academic performance criteria but must demonstrate a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.50 or lower credit. The bursary offers a one-time award of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00) for a single academic session.
