IAUE expels 6 students for fraud, theft, others

The Management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has expelled six students from the university. According to a statement issued by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, the senate of the university approved the expulsion of the students for various offenses ranging from rape to theft.

In the statement, one Bekwele Ogbondah Godspower, a 100-level student in the Department of Accounting was expelled for allegedly “defrauding other students of their school fees and issuing them with fake receipts” which cost most of the students their admission in the last academic session. While one Linus Hans in the Accounting Department was also expelled for “stealing a student’s mobile phone”.

Other offenders include; Nnamdi Destiny, Samuel Valentine both of the Department of Political Science, and Chukwuemeka Amajuoyi, from the Theatre and Film Studies alongside Ovunwo Henry-Junior were expelled for allegedly “gang-raping a female student” in her hostel.
