How To Calculate FUOYE Aggregate Score For All Courses 2024/2025 Academic Session

Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is a school for all, admission into this school is very transparent hence candidates who seek admission into FUOYE must be ready to merit it because there are no back-doors for gaining admission into the institution other than passing their cut off mark, post UTME examination and obtaining a minimum of five (5) credit passes which must include mathematics and English language plus any other three relevant subjects as it relates to your course.

In today’s write up, our aim is to teach candidates who selected FUOYE as their preferred choice of institution and participated in this year’s UTME, on how to calculate FUOYE’s aggregate score for all courses 2024/2025 academic session as this would help them in determining their admission status fast without having to confirm from a third party.

Just like other popular Federal universities in Nigeria, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti is a well respected school and highly valued in Nigeria, the most recent survey shows that more than 15% of UTME registrants select Federal University, Oye-Ekiti as their most preferred choice of institution before selecting the school under their catchment area, and the balance of 85% are shared other states and federal universities. polytechnics and colleges of education.

Before calculating your FUOYE aggregate score, the followings are involved;

  • FUOYE JAMB Cut off mark
  • FUOYE post UTME score
  • Your O’Level Results (WAEC and NECO)

In some schools, WAEC and NECO results are not necessary when calculating their aggregate cut off mark but in FUOYE you require your complete O’Level results when calculating candidate’s aggregate cut off mark, that is, your O’level results must be complete in the sense that a candidate must have obtained a minimum of 5 credit passes which must include mathematics and English Language except for courses like Law, English Language, ISD (International Studies and Diplomacy), French and other Language courses in not more than two (2) sittings.

Please note that the higher your grades in your O’Level subjects the higher your total aggregate score. Therefore candidates with B’s and A’s in their O’Level results have an added advantage during calculation of their total aggregate cut off mark.

FUOYE JAMB Cut Off Mark

Before calculating your FUOYE’s aggregate cut off mark for admission, you must ensure you score up to FUOYE’s JAMB cut off mark that gives you the eligibility status of participating in their post UTME. A good JAMB score is the first step towards ensuring a better chance of you gaining admission into Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.

Federal University, Oye-Ekiti JAMB cut off mark is still pegged at 180 even after JAMB directed that all schools drop their cut off points to 160 in the recent board meeting. The management of the institution insisted on leaving it at 180 because of the number of UTME registrants that come for post UTME Federal University, Oye-Ekiti is above their required quota hence the need to cut down the number by leaving their cut off mark at 180 is very necessary.

So before calculating your FUOYE’s aggregate cut off mark you must ensure you have passed the benchmark fixed by the university and it would be worthy to note that the higher your JAMB score, the higher your chances of a higher aggregate score, hence the higher your chances of gaining admission into Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.

FUOYE Post UTME Score

This is another important calculation that cannot be ignored, in fact if you do not participate inFederal University, Oye-Ekiti post UTME screening examination exercise, no matter how high your JAMB score may be, your admission is as good as being lost for the academic session except you are lucky enough to purchase a change of course form and switch to another university that is yet to conduct their post UTME.

In calculating FUOYE aggregate score, your post UTME score, JAMB score and WAEC or NECO results are needed, therefore you must make sure you score above average if you want to stand a chance of gaining admission into Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.

In the past, many candidates cried out that after passing both JAMB and post UTME at FUOYE they were still denied admission, it is not witch hunting as some assumed, the number of post UTME candidates that passed FUOYE’s post UTME is the determining factor for admission of candidates. For example, if the admission slot for Engineering or School of Medicine at FUOYE is 100 and 150 candidates passes the examination out of the possible 500 that must have partook in it, the school will have no option than to select the 100 best candidates out of the 150 candidates that passed the post UTME so 50 candidates are automatically denied admission despite passing the aggregate score and departmental cut off mark. This is the reason we advice candidates to work exceptionally hard in order to come out with excellent results that will be hard to ignore.

Though we are aware that some courses usually have low number of UTME students who select them during their registration, therefore expect the overall aggregate cut off mark for such courses to be low. As for professional courses like Engineering, Law, Accounting, Medicine, Nursing and the likes usually have the highest number of course selections during UTME registrations which is why just passing your JAMB and post UTME is not enough to grant you admission into Federal University, Oye-Ekiti so it is advised you obtain at least, an above average score if you want to stand a chance of gaining admission into this university without challenges.

In conclusion as regards the above paragraphs, to calculate EKSU aggregate score (JAMB cut off mark, Post UTME Score and O’Level results), candidate must score at least 180 in JAMB, 50% in their post UTME exam and obtain B’s and C’s in order to stand a chance of gaining admission into Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.

A lot has been discussed as regards all you need to known about the parameter used in calculating EKSU aggregate cut off mark or score. Can we go into practicals now?

We are going to be very practical in our illustration, it is a very simple mathematics, yet it needs a bit of concentration.

How To Calculate FUOYE Aggregate Score or Cut Off Mark For 2024/2025 Academic Session

Knowing how to calculate FUOYE aggregate score can help student forecast or plan what they want to score even without having sat for JAMB or post UTME. You can use proposed your proposed JAMB cut off mark and post UTME cut off mark, calculate and see if you can study your proposed course, if yes then work towards it, if the aggregate score is not up to then you will have to put in more efforts or change your proposed course.

Now lets show you practical example on how to calculate FUOYE’s Aggregate Score and please take note of the following:

a) That your JAMB score carries 50%, hence your jamb score is divided by 8.

B) That your O’level results (WAEC and NECO) carries 20%: It is calculated using the 5 core subjects.
A1-6points
B2-5
B3-4
C4-3
C5-2
C6-1
The total points is then multiplied by 2/3.

C) And Finally that your post UTME score is multiplied by 0.3

Illustration 1:

Let us assume Bukola scored 230 in her JAMB and her O’level goes thus:

  • Mathematics -B3
  • English – C4
  • Biology – B2,
  • Physics – C6
  • Economics – B3
  • Chemistry – A1

And Bukola’s post UTME score is 60%.

To calculate Bukola’s aggregate score, follow the steps below.

Bukola’s JAMB divided by 8
230/8= 28.75

Bukola’s O’level will be calculated thus:

  • Mathematics -B3 = 4 Points
  • English – C4 = 3 points
  • Biology – B2 = 5 points
  • Physics – C6 = 1 point
  • Chemistry – A1 = 6 points

Total points for O level= 4+3+5+1+6=19. This O’level score (19) is then multiplied by 2/3. That is,

19 x 2/3=12.7

Bukola’s post UTME score of 60% is multiplied by 0.3. I.e 60 x 0.3=18

In total, Bukola’s aggregate cut off mark in FUOYE will be the sum of these 3 scores I.e Jamb+O’level+post UTME.

That is 28.75+12.7+18 = 52.65
Hence, Bukola’s aggregate score is 59.45%

With an aggregate score of 59.45% out of 100%, this is considered an average score. With this aggregate score, a candidate’s chances of gaining admission to study his preferred choice of course is quite slim except the course chosen is a less competitive one or there is a mass failure or general low scores in that department during the post UTME exam.

So it is important candidates place huge emphasis on their post UTME examination especially candidates with low JAMB score in order to stand a better chance of gaining admission into FUOYE.

For candidates asking for the following:

  1. What is FUOYE’s aggregate score for Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering?
  2. FUOYE Aggregate Score for Law
  3. What is FUOYE’s Aggregate Score for Medicine and Surgery?
  4. What is FUOYE’s Aggregate Score for Nursing?
  5. FUOYE’s Aggregate Score for Accounting and all other faculties?

With the aggregate score (59.45%) calculated and used as an illustration above , you can gain admission into Federal university, Oye-Ekiti but your chances are slim as stated above.

Hope this is well understood? as you can see, calculating FUOYE’s aggregate score is quite simple, all that is required from candidates is to work harder to get a good O’level result, UTME and post UTME score in order to stand a better chance of gaining admission.
