Help us to revive the quality of Education in Nigeria -Minister

The Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufai, on Friday urged the educational employees Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) to revive education in Nigeria.

Prof. Rufai gave the task at the 2012 ASUP Week in Kaduna.

She urged the lecturers to use the avenue to brainstorm on the challenges bedeviling the education sector and are available up with implementable solutions that will revive the world.

The minister, represented by the manager Secretary, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Dr Mas'ud Kazaure, reiterated the commitment of the govt to improving the quality of education.

"Let us collaborate with the govt to revamp our instructional system in line with the transformational agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan," she said.

She said the govt recently spent N12.4 billion on the procurement of laboratory equipment, ability acquisition and technological equipment for fifty one polytechnics and monotechnics nationwide.

The state Chairman of ASUP, Mustapha Bida said the polytechnic was geared toward technological breakthrough, which might provides it the standing required to compete with different establishments everywhere the globe.

"Kaduna Polytechnic could be a paragon and encyclopedia of technological education," he said.

Bida urged the govt yet as different stakeholders to support the institution's quest to rejuvenate the decaying instructional system.

He additionally stressed the requirement for peace and security of lives and property to attain the target.
