The Adamawa Police Command has confirmed the death of four people, including two students, from gun shots in Mubi town.
Confirming the development the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Ibrahim, said the incident took place on Wednesday night during attacks on telecommunication masts in the town.
Ibrahim said that among the four people killed during the attack by gunmen on Globacom facilities were two students, one from Adamawa State University and the other from the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi.
Ibrahim said the identity of the remaining two had yet to be ascertained.
Confirming the death of one of its students from gun shot, the Head of Protocol and Publicity in the University, Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, said the deceased met his death around the Low Cost Housing area, were he was hit by bullet.
He said the late student was an indigene of the state, from Madagali local government area was a final year student of the Department of Economics.”
“He just defended his project yesterday”, Sajoh said.
