South Africa National Presidential SMME And Coperatives Awards 2023 aims to coordinate all key role players in the ecosystem in support of small enterprise development. Furthermore, these awards will recognise and celebrate the best performing SMMEs, Cooperatives, Ecosystem Enablers and Corporates that are supporting SMME development.

AWARDS NOMINATION GUIDE

1 .Nominate an SMME, Cooperative, Financier, Ecosystem Support Organisation, Corporate in each of the various categories.

2 .Nominated company will receive an email with a link advising them that they have been nominated.

3 .Nominated company will follow the link on the email received to complete and upload necessary documentation and submit.

4 .Successful applicants will receive communication October 2023.

The National Presidential SMME Awards aims to coordinate all key role players in the ecosystem in support of small enterprise development. Furthermore, these awards will recognise and celebrate the best performing SMMEs, Cooperatives, Ecosystem Enablers and Corporates that are supporting SMME development.

Requirements for National Presidential SMME And Coperatives Awards Qualification

Cooperative of the Year Enterprise Cooperative of the Year – This will celebrate cooperatives that have achieved measurable and tangible impact for their members and community at large through their various business endeavors. The cooperatives would show innovation and effectiveness in how they operate.

Best Employing Co-operative of The Year This award will celebrate cooperatives that through their work have managed to employ a large number of people in their operations. The cooperative should also display sustainability in how they create employment.

Best Performing Rural CBI Of The Year This award celebrates Cooperative Banking Institutions who have prioritised providing financial services to rural communities in an inclusive and impactful manner. These services can come in the form of savings schemes, provision of credit instruments and other cooperative banking services.

Best Performing Urban (Township) CBI Of The Year This award celebrates Cooperative Banking Institutions who service township communities with their financial services in an inclusive and impactful manner. These services can come in the form of savings schemes, provision of credit instruments and other cooperative banking services.

SMMEs Owned By Persons with Disabilities of The Year This award celebrates SMMEs Owned By Persons with Disabilities who are achieving great success against a rural setting with their creativity, innovation, and impact in their community.

Youth-Led SMME of The Year This award places a spotlight on youth owned SMMEs and the young people leading them who have shown character, tenacity, and skill in making a success for themselves. The entrepreneurs have managed to carve out a name for themselves and their business.

Homegrown SMME of The Year This award celebrates the local, Homegrown SMME who are manufacturing products through local resources in the form of the labour they use, resources deployed, relevant material etc. The products are fresh, are of a high standard of quality and celebrate South Africa.

Rural-based SMME of The Year This award celebrates Rural-based SMME who are achieving great success against a rural setting with their creativity, innovation, and impact in their community.

Breaking Ground SMMEs of The Year This award celebrates Breaking Ground SMMEs that have managed to gain international traction in the form of their products or services now servicing markets outside of South Africa. The SMME has managed to show significant growth by breaking new ground in foreign lands flying the South African flag high.

Women-Led SMME of The Year This award celebrates female entrepreneurs and women-owned business that are making significant strides in the country the sheer impact of their businesses and the tenacity displayed in their founders. These businesses successful in how they meet customer needs and demands while deliberate in their ownership and management.

Startup Business of The Year This award celebrates newly formed businesses who have displayed vision, creativity, and innovation in breaking ground within their respective operating markets. The startups are the risk takers with great ambition who are on the cusp of success.

Township SMME of the Year This award celebrates SMMEs based in the township who are making waves with their creativity, innovation, and impact in their community.

Social Enterprise of the Year This award celebrates Social Enterprise who are making waves with their creativity, innovation, and impact in their community.

Business Development Services Provider of The year This award celebrates Business Development Services Provider who are making waves with their creativity, innovation, and impact in their community.
