The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has approved the release of fund for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd terms payment for new registration of Anambra State Government's special scholarship program beneficiaries.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh disclosed that the approved amount, totalling fourteen million, one hundred and twenty-one thousand naira.
37 students from educationally disadvantaged and hard to reach areas, are currently benefiting from the program in some selected mission managed schools in the State.
Commissioner Chuma-Udeh appreciated Governor Soludo for his magnanimity in approving the continuation of the program, saying that it was designed to bring out the students from the socio- cultural practices that inhibit their academic pursuit.
The Education Commissioner, further stated that Governor Soludo's approval for the continuation of the special scholarship program, was in line with the State Government's policy of ensuring that no child is to be left behind, as well as the commitment to provide the enabling environment and equal access to education, for Anambra children to realize their potentials.
Meanwhile the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has scheduled Tuesday, 29th November 2022, for an interactive session with beneficiaries of the special scholarship program.
