Gov. Pays Unexpected Visit to Schools, Forces Principals to Eat Same Food with Boarding Students

The Governor of Zamfara state, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle has reportedly mandated secondary school principals in the state to always eat from the same food they served to boarding school students or stand a chance to get dismissed.

The event occurred following an unexpected visit by the Governor to two boarding schools in the state namely, Government Science Secondary School, Gusau and Government Girls School, Gusau. The governor expressed disappointment with the unhygienic cooking environment as well as the low quality of food provided for the students despite the amount of money issued by the government on the feeding scheme.

He reportedly forced the principals and the cooking officials to each the poor quality food that was prepared for the students.

“It is a must henceforth that you eat the kind of food you give your students and I will keep you on watch so that those of you who violates this order of eating same food with students be dismissed,” he warned.
“Henceforth, the principals, feeding officers and other officers throughout the state must eat the same food they cook for their students or be dismissed,” he directed.
