The executive governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, on Monday, 18 January, inaugurated the governing council of the Gombe state university (GOMSU), as well as board members for the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and the College of Health Sciences and Technology.
In the inauguration ceremony which took place at the government house banquet hall, the governor charged the board members to devise means of ensuring their institutions were accountable in their dealings and compliant with best practices. He further tasked them to come up with innovative ways of generating revenue for their institutions, reducing over-reliance on the government.
Yahaya assured the board members of his administration commitment to ensuring the development of all sectors in the state, stating that the Gombe State University was established in line with the three mission of teaching, research, and service.
