Gombe converts four public schools to schools for children with special needs

The Gombe State Government has converted four schools across the three senatorial zones in the state to schools for children with special needs.

The state Commissioner for Education, Dr Habu Dahiru mentioned this during a briefing. He stated that the schools’ conversion would provide an opportunity for proper use of available teachers as well as to create a platform for students in special schools to compete with their counterparts across the country.

He said, “The special schools will be given adequate attention to be able to produce students who will be filling the state’s quota in Nigerian universities and other higher institutions.”

The schools are Government Science Secondary School Kaltungo, Government Secondary School Dukku, Government Secondary School Dadinkowa and Government Girls Secondary School Doma.
