Senator Emmanuel Anosike , the chairman of chairmen ,Governing Councils of Federal Colleges of Education has pleaded the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union(COEASU) to call off its 4-month strike and go back to the classrooms, assuring that his board is making efforts to pacify their grievances.
He made this plea yesterday at the end of his board’s tour of all Federal Colleges of Education in the South-West Geo-political zone of the country.
As he observed, allowing students to roam the streets when they are supposed to be in classrooms poses a serious problem for the country considering the present security challenges.
According to him, the board’s tour of colleges in the South West signals government’s commitment towards transforming the schools through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund.
He advised that the training of students in the Federal college of Education (Special ) Oyo should be handled by experts as this is where teachers and professionals are equipped to meet the needs of children and adults that are considered special.
