The members of the Students' parliament (SRC), Students' Union Government(SUG), Federal University Of Technology, Owerri, had there first Sitting after inauguration Friday, 30th of November. 2012.
The Principal Officers who were present in the sitting include:-
1. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ejiole Chinemerem C. representing Biomedical Technology constituency.
2. The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amaeze Tochukwu E.( TEANET), representing Surveying and Geo informatics constituency, SOET.
3. The Chief Whip, Hon. Owoh Frank, from Metallurgical and Materials Engineering constituency was unavoidably absent in the sitting.
The members of the SRC, FUTO agreed to name the chamber, "THE HOUSE OF EXCELLENCE" after the motion move by Hon. Omeje Kosisochukwu Charles, representing Prosthesis and Orthopedics Technology, was seconded by Hon. Nkuma Eke, representing Optometry Constituency.
The "HOUSE OF EXCELLENCE", yesterday, in the presence of the SUG President, Comr. Rotr. Okeke Godson C., received the SUG annual budget which was presented by the Treasurer, Comr. Dike Susan in absence of the Financial Sec. of the SUG, Comr. Igboke, to go under ratification and amendment.
The committee chairman on budget, Honorable representing Dental Technology constituency said he will look into it for amendment, and shall present it to the house in the second sitting.
