Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission to these programmes are as follows:
(a) Five O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language and Mathematics
(b) HND with a minimum of Upper Credit from any approved Polytechnic or
(c) B.Sc Degree in any related discipline from any approved University or any other recognized University with at least a third class honours.
Mode of Study
The PGD programme will have a minimum residence period of two semesters and a maximum of four semesters. The programme will consist of taught advanced lecture courses, seminars and a literature-based project dissertation on any specialized topic. At least 12 credit units and a maximum of 18 credit units per semester can be registered. But a minimum of 24 credit units must be earned before a Postgraduate student can be qualified for award of PGD.

Admission Requirements.
The minimum requirements for admission to M.Sc Programmes consist of the following:
(a) Five O’ Level Passes including English Language and Mathematics
(b) A Bachelor Degree from FUTO or any other recognized University with at least a good Second Class Honours qualification
(c) A third Class Degree from FUTO or any other recognized University plus a PGD in Gender Studies.
Mode of study/Duration of Programme
There will be two modes of study, namely full-time and part-time. The full-time programme for M.Sc shall run for a minimum of 3 semesters and a maximum of 8 semesters. The M.Sc programme will involve course work and dissertation. In addition to being eligible for the M.Sc degree, a candidate will be required to register at least 14 credit units and a maximum of 18 credit units per semester, but a minimum of 30 credit units must be earned before a postgraduate student can be qualified for award of M.Sc
D. METHOD OF APPLICATION
Candidates are advised to apply on line following the procedure given below:
Step 1: Go to any branch of First Bank Plc and pay a non-refundable fee of Eleven thousand, three hundred Naira (N11,300.00) for FUTO PGS OR CCE application depending on your interest. You will be given an e-Tranzact receipt which should contain a Confirmation Order and Receipt Number. (Ensure that you do NOT lose this information).
Step 2: Log on to the application portal using “pgapply.futo.edu.ng”
Step 3: Click on the “New Application” link
(Remember to download the Referee Report and the Transcript Request forms on the Login page)
Step 4: Select the program of your choice, enter the confirmation order and receipt number on the slip you got from the bank.
Step 5: Click on the “Start” button
Step 6: Fill the application form, then click “Continue”.
N.B: Ensure you upload your passport and fill all the required fields on the application form correctly
Step 7: Fill your O’level results correctly, then click “Save”
Step 8: When you have filled the application form correctly, to proceed click “Print Application Form”
N.B: If you click “Print Application Form”, you will not be able to edit your application form, to preview your application form and do the necessary corrections, click “Back”
E DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT
Candidates should forward the following relevant documents in support of their application to the Deputy Registrar/Secretary, Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.
i. Two photocopies of University Degree certificates
ii. Two photocopies of NYSC discharge certificate
iii. Two photocopies of “O” Level Result
iv. Letters from 3 Referees as indicated in the Form.
v. Two hard copies of the on-line application.
SUBMISSION OF ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS:
All applicants must forward their transcripts to reach The Secretary, Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, not later than October 30, 2014. Please note that any application without Transcript will not be considered for admission
