FUTMINNA sets to launch 7 new academic programmes

In response to growing demands for a contemporary and robust curriculum, the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, is set to introduce seven new academic programs. These programs are scheduled for the first batch of Resource Assessment by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the accreditation of the Department of Estate Management & Valuation by the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON). 

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, announced this today, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus, during a courtesy visit on him by the NUC Resource Assessment Teams and ESVARBON.

Prof. Kuta emphasized the importance of the assessment exercise, assuring that the University has taken all necessary steps to meet the minimum requirements for launching the new programs. He added that peer review is crucial for identifying areas needing improvement to enhance the overall system.

Prof. Sanusi Abubakar, NUC Team Lead on Public Health, explained that the purpose of their visit was to assess the institution’s readiness to launch the new programs through resource verification.

Also speaking, ESV. Dr. C.C. Nwuba, Team Lead for ESVARBON, stated that his team aimed to re-evaluate the Estate Management and Valuation program to build on past progress.

The new academic programs set for NUC Resource verification include:

1. B.Tech. Forestry and Wildlife Technology (SAAT)

2. B.Tech. Forensic Science (SLS)

3. B.Tech. Public Health (SLS)

4. B.Tech. Data Science (SICT)

5. B.Tech. Software Engineering (SICT)

6. B.Tech. Industrial Mathematics (SPS)

7. B.Tech. Meteorology (SPS)

This development marks a significant milestone in FUTMINNA’s pursuit of academic excellence and its commitment to providing students with a world-class education, preparing them for success in their chosen fields.
