FUTA Produces Nigeria’s Best Female Architecture Student

A student of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, Mofoluwaso Opeyemi Atolagbe has emerged the best female architecture student in the country.

She emerged from a selection exercised conducted by the Female Architects of Nigeria, FAN, under the aegis of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, NIA. Atolagbe’s result was compared to those of other students of Architecture from different schools and she came first in the exercise.

FAN had earlier requested for and obtained the result of the best female student from every Department of Architecture in Nigeria. Atolagbe has been invited to FAN’s annual general meeting and 20th year celebrations scheduled to hold at the Le Meridien Hotels & Resort, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State , from 24th -26th September 2013. An award will be given to her at the dinner on 26th September.

While reacting to the feat the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, described it as recognition of the excellence that has become the hallmark of FUTA. He said the University was proud of the steady stride of the School of Environmental Technology, SET, under the watch of Professor Deji Ogunsemi, its dean.

“We are indeed very proud of this achievement and the school’s excellent standing among its peers in the developing world. We wish you more success as you join other schools within the university in conquering greater heights and taking FUTA to the marketplace of ideas and innovations,” Professor Daramola said.
