The management of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti (FUOYE) has approved an insurance package of N3.1 million at N125, 000 each for 25 indigent students of the institution to enable them to complete their academic programs.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Dean of Student Affairs of the university, Prof. Dosu Malomo, on Sunday, April 18. According to the statement, the beneficiary students were selected from those who are unable to continue with their education following the death of their parents or guardians.
The scheme which has over 100 beneficiaries since its inception, is meant to care for the student's tuition and other essential needs.
The beneficiary students expressed their gratitude to the university’s management for making their dreams a reality, notwithstanding their financial constraints.
