The Federal University Oye Ekiti, located in Ekiti State, Nigeria, commonly referred to as FUOYE, has firmly refuted any intentions to revamp its Top-Up program to transform Higher National Diplomas (HND) into degree programs, as erroneously propagated online. The university has labeled these claims as baseless and grossly misleading.
Furthermore, the institution has dismissed any assertions of launching admission forms related to such a purported Top-Up program.
According to a widely circulated article authored by an individual named Adekunle Dada, titled “FUOYE Commences HND-Degree Conversion Program, Offering a Solution for HND Graduates Seeking University Degrees,” the university asserts that this information did not originate from them, and they unequivocally disavow it in its entirety.
In a statement issued by the university’s registrar, Mr. Mufutau Adeshina Ibrahim, it is clarified that the viral article did not have any association with the university. He stated, “The attention of the management of the Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, has been drawn to a deceptive and blatantly misleading piece of news being disseminated on social media and other platforms, falsely asserting that FUOYE has restructured its Top-Up program to convert HND into a degree program.
We confirm that this viral news is entirely fabricated and disseminated by individuals with dishonorable motives who may seek to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.”
Mr. Ibrahim continued by asserting, “The article, attributed to one Adekunle Dada, did not originate from the university, and this statement serves as an official disclaimer. Therefore, we urge the public to dismiss the spurious viral news and understand that FUOYE will not be responsible for any losses incurred by anyone engaging in any dealings with those responsible for the misleading news, as authored by the aforementioned Adekunle Dada.”
