FUNAAB SUG update on cost of transportation within the campus

The Student Union of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta would like to commend fabulous Funaabites for their co-operation as we addressed the issue of transportation challenges faced by students.

After engaging in rigorous consultations, consolidations, and confrontations with the transport unit, we have negotiated a fair and sustainable transport fare.

During our negotiations, we considered the harsh economic and infrastructural conditions affecting the transporters. We realized that imposing our initial proposed rate would jeopardize their livelihoods and potentially force them out of business.

Our priority remains the welfare and interests of students while promoting a thriving transportation system on campus.

Effective immediately, the transport fare for approved buses operating from CAMP to CARPARK has been set at N400.

To ensure the sustainability of this agreement, it was agreed that the fare of N400 will remain unchanged as long as fuel prices do not increase by more than 30% of its current price.

However, Students are advised to use only approved buses and drop CAR PARK to avoid overcharging and extortion. Intra-campus transport can be used to reach any other destination on campus
