The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially notified the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) of its plans to conduct accreditation for 18 academic programmes. The Accreditation Exercise, scheduled for November and December 2024, would be a key opportunity for FUNAAB to reaffirm its commitment to academic excellence.
According to a statement by the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Olajide Sogunle, the accreditation visits would begin with Mathematics and Food Science and Technology from November 10 to 13, followed by Statistics from November 11 to 14, and Civil Engineering from November 14 to 16, 2024.
Prof. Sogunle also provided a detailed schedule, which included Computer Science (November 17-19), Chemistry, Environmental Management and Toxicology, Physics, and Veterinary Medicine (November 24-26), and Geology (November 27-29). Mechanical Engineering would be assessed from November 28 to 30, 2024.
He added that the Exercise would continue into December with visits to Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, as well as Electrical Electronics Engineering (December 1-3), Aquaculture and Fisheries Management (December 8-10), and Forestry and Wildlife Management (December 9-11). Water Resources Management would follow from December 11 to 13, with the final visits for Agricultural courses and Nutrition and Dietetics scheduled from December 15 to 18, 2024.
