The Senate of the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA), during its 70th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 25th May 2023, has passed a crucial resolution affecting the student body. All returning students of FULAFIA will have an additional two weeks to complete their registration for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic session. This extension period will commence from Monday, 29th May, and conclude on Friday, 9th June 2023.
FULAFIA’s Decision for Extended Registration Period
The decision comes in the wake of recognizing the challenges students may face during the registration process. In the past, students had often cited a variety of issues leading to a delay in their registration. The move will ensure students get ample time to complete their registration, reducing last-minute stress and confusion.

Implication of Late Registration
While this extension undoubtedly provides a relief to students, the Senate has reiterated its stance on late registration as per Chapter 1, Paragraph 1.4 of the Students’ Handbook. Any registration that occurs after the newly stipulated deadline of June 9th, 2023, will be considered late. Consequently, late registration will attract a fine as prescribed in the University’s rules and regulations.
Advice to Students
Students are strongly advised to utilize this opportunity and complete their registration within the extended period. The University encourages students to prioritize their academic commitments and ensure their registration is done promptly to avoid unnecessary fines.
The Federal University of Lafia remains committed to providing an efficient and conducive environment for its students. By implementing measures such as this registration extension, FULAFIA continues to show its dedication to student welfare and academic success.
