Jeremiah Nnamdi, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture (FUAM), who killed a lecturer of the same university Dr Karl Kwaghger, on Saturday, November 28, 2020, and went ahead to sell the deceased stolen car, has been remanded in a correctional centre.
The suspect who had confessed to the crime during interrogations revealed that he committed the crime along with one Osinachi Michael, who is at large. He also told the police that his initial intention was to threaten the lecturer and rob him of his car, but he ended up killing him because he resisted.
The presiding magistrate, Vincent Kor ordered that the defendant be remanded in Correctional Service Centre, Makurdi and adjourned the matter until April 5, 2021. He ordered the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
