It was learnt that following the death of a female student of the department of Accountancy (HND 1) of the Federal Polytechnic Osun State in an accident, there has been clashes between the students of the institution and some thugs in the community.
According to the report, a truck driver on Saturday evening along Agbale road hit a female student killing her instantly.
The truck driver was said to have escaped and later came back with some rough looking men believed to be hired thugs in order to protect his vehicle from the students who were already turning violent.
This resulted in a free - for - all fight. In the end the truck was burnt down by the students and four of the students were left with matchet injuries.
The Public Relation Officer of the Institution, Mr Kazeem Oyedeji who confirmed the incident said the four students who were attacked during the clash are presently receiving treatment at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
With the presence of armed police man and patrol vehicles, the situation is presently under control.
