Four students of Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri in Kebbi state, have regained freedom from their kidnappers nearly two years after they were abducted from their school.
The four girls identified as Bilha Musa, Faiza Ahmed, Rahma Abdullahi, and Hafsa Murtala were released by a notorious bandit leader, Dogo Gide today, Friday, April 21, according to a parent of one of the freed girls, Salim Kajoe.
According to Kajoe, they negotiated the release of the girls for six days, and seven are still in captivity with their parents working to free them too. He stated that they paid an undisclosed amount of money to secure their release after selling their properties and fundraising from well-meaning Nigerians
The students, alongside some of their teachers, were kidnapped in June 2021, after the terrorists invaded the federal government-owned mixed boarding school.
