Four JAMB candidates arrested for vandalizing CBT centre in Otuoke

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four candidates writing the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations for vandalising a Computer Based Test Centre (CBT) in Otuoke, Bayelsa state.

The culprits, all male were accused of disrupting the smooth exercise of the examination at the centre and destroying some properties on Tuesday, June 22. The destroyed Computer-Based Test Centre is said to be located in Federal University, Otuoke.

The NSCDC State Commandant, Mrs Christiana Abiakam-Omanu said the suspects were allowed to participate in the examination before they were arrested, adding that investigation is ongoing to unravel other suspects to make them face the full weight of the law. She warned that NSCDC will not tolerate the vandalism of government infrastructure.

The four suspects who admitted to committing the offence regretted their actions and appealed for forgiveness from the government.
