The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students commencing the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electronic Systems and Security), Bachelor of Science (Physics) combined degree.

Aim and Benefits of DST Scholarship

Each scholarship is funded by DST and will have a value of $5,000 paid in equal instalments after the census date of each semester. 10 scholarships will be available per year for the duration of the funding.  

DST Scholarship Courses

Requirements for DST Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must be:

  • Australian citizens or permanent residents.
  • commencing the first year of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electronic Systems and Security), Bachelor of Science (Physics) combined degree*; and
  • normally enrolled full-time at Flinders University. 

Students who are enrolled part-time as a result of exceptional circumstances will be considered. Exceptional circumstances may include (but is not limited to) disability, illness or carer responsibilities. Pro-rata benefits will be paid in these instances.

* the following approved alternatives degrees will be accepted:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electronic Systems and Security), Bachelor of Science (Physics) (Honours)  - must be in the first three years of the physics honours degree; or
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) (Honours) - Electronic Systems and Security major only, Bachelor of Science (Physics); or
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) (Honours) - Electronic Systems and Security major only, Bachelor of Science (Physics) (Honours)  - must be in the first three years of the physics honours degree

Interview date, Process and Venue for DST Scholarship

Selection Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Eligible scholarship applicants will be ranked according to their ATAR, GPA or other entry pathway. If there is more than one student sharing the highest ATAR or equivalent entry pathway, results in specific school subjects may be taken into consideration.

Tenure

The tenure is one year.

Leave will be permitted for the second semester of this scholarship, for a maximum of one semester only.
