Final year poly student drowns in a pool during end-of-exams celebration

A 26-year-old Computer Science student of the Taraba State Polytechnic has been confirmed dead after she reportedly drowned in a pool.

The deceased student named Clara Jacob was found dead in a swimming pool at a hotel in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital, where she had gone to celebrate the end of her final exams with some of her friends, on Saturday, October 30.

Multiple sources and eyewitnesses revealed that the student was swimming alongside some of her friends when she suddenly went missing. She was thereafter found struggling at the deep pf the pool, and when the pool manager was called to assist in getting her out of the water, he told them that he doesn't know how to swim.

Her lifeless body was eventually pulled out of the deep after several minutes of desperate efforts.

According to Jacob Joseph, the elder brother to the deceased who confirmed the incident, Clara's body has been taken to the Federal Medical Center, Jalingo, and deposited at the Morgue.
