Reduction in Price of JAMB form: The Federal Government has announced how much the sales of of JAMB Forms for the yearly Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), NECO SSCE and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) forms will henceforth cost.

He noted that the obvious increase in the amount amount being remitted by JAMB from less than N60m in 2010 – 2016 to 15 Billion in 2017 – 2018 is an indication that the fees being charged could be reduced.

The minister, in his announcement stated that the president directed the Ministry to look into the reduction following the “significant improvement in revenues being remitted to the Treasury by the Education Agencies.”

It was gathered that the reduction will be implemented from January 2019 with the price of JAMB Form (UTME/DE) dropping from N5,000 to N3,500 and NECO dropping from N11,350 to N9,850.

Recall that the JAMB Boss some time in August stated that there is no need for a reduction in cost of JAMB form. He said the UTME registration fee is one of the cheapest in the world and stated that remittances were made possible by the prudent management of resources by the board.
