Federal polytechnic. Ado-Ekiti gets new deputy Rector

The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti has appointed a new Deputy Rector (Academic), he is Mr. Olusegun David DADA, an alumnus of the Institution and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Dada (54), who is the outgoing Dean of Students’ Affairs and former Head of the Department of Accountancy from which he graduated with an HND in 1995, joined the services of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti as a Lecturer II in 1999.

Aside from the ND and HND obtained in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, the new Deputy Rector (Academic) also holds two Bachelor degrees in Account and Accounting Education with an MBAdegree as well as two other Master degrees in Accountancy and Finance respectively from Lead City University, Ibadan and the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti where he is currently undergoing Doctoral Studies.

The ratification of the appointment of Mr. O.D. Dada as Deputy Rector (Academic) with effect from 12th October, 2020 followed his earlier election by the Academic Board of the Institution.

In a related development, Management of the Polytechnic has also announced three new appointments, among which are two Chief Lecturers, Dr. Michael K. Adu and Builder Ojo S. Anifowose who have been respectively appointed as the Director of the Institution’s Centre for Research, Innovation and Development (CRID) and Coordinator of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and Industrial Liaison Unit.

The new appointees, whose appointment took effect from 1st November, 2020, includes Engr. Ebenezer F. Adefidipe, who has been appointed as the Acting Director of the Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for Engineering Innovation (OOCEI), a copy technology Innovation Centre of the Polytechnic.

The three newly appointed officers as Director, Coordinator and Acting Director have since assumed office.
