Students of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana have elected new set of executives to pilot the affairs of the Students' Union Government of the institution.
This followed an election conducted last Saturday at the Annex campus of the Polytechnic.
After the election, Asuabiat Ime Effiong was elected President while Nseobong Gabriel Akpan was elected as Vice President. Blessed Nathaniel Sunday and Ekpono-Abasi Sampson were elected as Secretary and Assistant secretary respectively.
Others elected into the exco include, Mbuotidem David-Ekpo as Treasurer, Ekerette Udo as Director of Information and Solomon Ating as Director of Socials. Also, Mina Tamunobelema was elected as Director of Welfare, while David Uwem Friday is to serve as Director of Sports.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Students' Affairs, Mr Keke Everest has congratulated the students for their peaceful disposition which culminated in the hitch-free election. He charged them to be magnanimous in victory by carrying every student along in the discharge of their functions.
The SUG election was the high point of the 2021 students' week of the Polytechnic.
