All is now set for the ground breaking inaugural National conference of The Directorate of Professional Diploma in Education, DPE, Federal College of Education (Technical) Asaba.
This much was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of the Conference, Dr. (Mrs) CP Enueme and made exclusively to Flashpoint News online.
According to the statement, this maiden edition of the Professional Diploma in Education conference is being organized with theme: The Teacher: Professional Practices and Contemporary Issues for Quality Assurance.
The Keynote address for the conference will be delivered by Dr. Nwanze Ignatius Ezoem, Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, and the conference is also expected to feature top academics and professionals in the teaching field.
The two day conference, which comes from Tuesday 8th – Thursady10th April, 2014, will take place at the Federal College of Education Technical, Asaba and special guests expected to grace the event include; the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Council of Colleges of Education, NCCE, the Registrar, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN.

The Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Hope Eghagha is expected to be a Special Guest of Honour and teachers from across the country and other African countries including Zimbabwe are also expected at the event.
Commenting on the importance of this maiden national conference on the teachers, Mr. Mike Ilechie, who is the Director of Socials, COEASU and also a lecturer with the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, noted that the conference could not have come at a more opportune time for teachers in the state and country.
According to him, “This maiden conference in expected to conscientize and reawaken the consciousness of teachers to the ethics and demands of the teaching profession in the state. It will be a wonderful conference and I can assure you that our Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Dr. Mrs. Enueme and her team, have put all the necessary structures in place to host our guests from Nigeria and abroad and make sure that we have a successful conference”, an excited Mr. Ilechie enthused.
