The Federal Scholarship Board has awarded study scholarship to three high-flying students of the College. The Board is a department in the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja.
Miss Ibemeka Favour Ozioma of Computer Physics Education, Miss Nwafor Blessing Nkechinyere (Education Management and Policy) and Samuel Chiemerie Israel of Computer Science/Physics Education of the College were among the winners for the scholarship tenable in Nigeria, with effect from the beginning of 2020 academic session.
Their award letters were handed over to the Provost, Dr Tessy Okoli, by Mrs Omeje Susan on behalf of the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu. The value of the award is N200,000 per session
The Provost congratulated the winners on their outstanding performance, and urged them to strive harder to sustain it.
She described the award as a recognition of hardwork and thanked the Federal Government for encouraging academic excellence among students of various tertiary institutions in the country.
To sustain the award, beneficiaries are expected to maintain high performance. Failure at examinations/performance below the required CGPA of 4.0 on a 5 point scale and 3.5 for Polytechnics and College of Education respectively could lead to forfeiting the award.
