Ex-UNIBEN Director Petitions Presidency Over Sack

A former Deputy Director in the Central Record Processing Unit (CRPU) of the University of Benin, (UNIBEN) Kehinde Dokun Samuel, has faulted termination of his appointment by the university authority in 2013, describing the action as being maliciously carried out to victimize him.

Samuel, who stated this in a petition dated 14/03/2014 and signed by his lawyer, Ibomhen Dike & co. (legal practitioner & corporate consultants) and addressed to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, appealed for a panel of inquiry to be set up to look into what he called “unlawful termination of his appointment by the university”.

He also cited alleged plans by some authorities in the university to assassinate him, which he said the institution had on several attempts debunked.

The university authorities, according to him, is claiming that the termination of his appointment followed due process and that no one is against him nor after his life but that the said ex-deputy director had been continually blackmailing authorities of the institution in an attempt to garner sympathizers.

Samuel, in his latest petition, explained that his travail in the hands of all those who are bent on assassinating him began having exposed them in a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on alleged cases of gross financial and administrative misconduct taking place in the university.
