This will send out a clear alarm and note of warning to all Varsities Management Board and Staffs in Nigeria Tertiary Institution that the eradication of Fraudulent Acts should begin inside the SCHOOL.
The Enugu State University Of Technology And Science Management Board has on Friday sacked eight of its staff members for alleged acts of fraud.
According to the institution’s Director Of Public Relations, Mr. Osita Ugwuoti, six of the affected staff members were allegedly responsible for the illegally giving out admission of more than 500 students which were recently expelled from the educational institution.
Mr Ugwuoti said in a statement in Enugu State on Friday, the 14th Of September 2012 that one of the staff members was a senior lecturer and that they belonged to various departments of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology(ESUT).
One employee Of ESUT has been discovered to be engaged in double employment at ESUT and the Institute of Management Technology, Enugu, and has illegally earned salaries from both institutions,” He quoted.
The director went further to stat that another was sacked for mutilating students results, sale of degree results and other related malpractices which he use to give candidates who are not eligible for admission, entrance into the University.
The Director, Mr Ugwuoti said the resolution to sack the officers was taken at the 126 th regular meeting of the governing council of the university.
He also states and warned that such punitive measures would henceforth descend on any staff member of the University who is involved in any form of academic fraud.
