Elections: ABU, Bells and Redeemer's universities announce new resumption dates

The management of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, on Friday, March 10, said it would resume academic activities on March 20, after the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections in the country.

This was disclosed during an interview by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Akeem Adeyemi. The university, however,  apologized to parents and guardians for any inconveniences that the change in the resumption date might have caused them.

Also, the management of Redeemer’s University, in a statement by its Registrar, O. E. Akindele, advised students of the university to resume on March 20, 2023.

The statement added that the 2022/2023 first semester examinations will continue from Thursday, 23 to Friday, April 7, 2023, for returning students while examination for fresh students (100 level only) will commence on Tuesday, April 4, till Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Lectures for the second semester for fresh students (100 level only) will commence on Monday, April 24, 2023.

The university further stated that there will not be a mid-semester break after the first semester examinations, and academic activities for the second semester will commence immediately thereafter.”

At the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, a source disclosed that the resumption of academic activities which was earlier fixed for March 14, 2023, has been shifted to Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
