CESVO Rates EKSU Most Responsible Varsity in South West

Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO) ranked Ekiti State University (EKSU) as the most ethically responsible University in South West Geo – political Zone of Nigeria.

Ekiti State University has added another feather to its cap following the recent ranking of the University as the most ethically responsible University in South West Geo – political Zone of Nigeria.

          The ranking was an outcome of an independent assessment and research work carried out by an internationally reputed Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with headquarters in Nigeria, the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO).

          According to the President of the organisation, Prince Saliu Musa Yakubu, the activities of the organization,  involves beaming the searchlight on public institutions and individuals with the aim of exposing corruption, maladministration, inefficiency, graft and fraudulent conduct of public officers and public offices.

          Prince Saliu Yakubu said that  the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation  started its independent and secret assessment of Ekiti State University and other Universities three months ago and have conducted non-bias investigation using questionnaires, opinion poll rating and stakeholder interviews to assess the quality of the University and management performance.

          “Ekiti State University has been  adjudged to be among the top six universities in Nigeria representing ethically responsible universities,” Prince Yakubu declared .  The assessment covered performances in areas including educational policy, performance quality of academic programmes, ethical conduct, budget performance, internal fight against corruption and national visibility

          Prince Yakubu congratulated the Vice-Chancellor for operating an inclusive, transparent and accountable leadership which has endeared him to stakeholders in the education sector and society at large.

          The organisation thereafter presented a national certificate of credence to Ekiti State University as the most ethically responsible university in South-West Nigeria.

          The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oladipo Aina, FAS was also decorated as an Ambassador of ethics and conscience having scored over 70% in private assessment of his official conduct including office attendance, public accessibility.

          Due diligence, quality control students/staff welfare and management as well as ethical conduct.The Vice-Chancellor was decorated with a gold medal in Public Administration.

          In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina commended the effort of the group and their contribution to societal growth.

          Prof. Aina expressed optimism that the Nigerian Nation would be a better place of everyone cooperates to stamp out corruption.

          The occasion was witnessed by Principal Officers of the University and the Students’ Union Leader, Babatope Ibitola.
