The Ekiti state government has reversed the appointment of 100 newly recruited teachers. This was contained in a statement issued by the chairman of the Teaching Service Commission, Mr. Babatunde Abegunde, on Thursday, March 18.
He said the decision was taken due to the economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adegunde further revealed that the appointment was suspended to prevent a situation where teachers would not get paid their salaries, adding that Governor Kayode Fayemi has directed that the money paid by the successful candidates to purchase the teaching service manual, service record, and job cards among others be refunded.
