AN educationist, Dr. Andrew Abba, has called on the Federal Government to revisit the 6-3-3-4 system of education in Nigerian Secondary Schools with a view to ensuring its proper implementation or have it scrapped.
He lamented that the purpose of the system was no more being pursued, resulting in the fallen standard of education in secondary schools.
Abba who spoke at the 2013 graduation and prize giving day celebration of Vaatia College in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, said “the biggest problem facing Nigeria today is the improper implementation of policies, poor quality of education and the consequent low lives of our people.
“The schools we used to cherish in the past have all collapsed, leaving the private sector to seize the initiative. It clearly shows that our secondary schools must strive to avail our children, value-added education that would make them better citizens in the future.” he said.
