Ebonyi State Government Disburses Scholarship to 103 Pupils in 2 Years:
The Ebonyi State Government has offered scholarship to 103 outstanding secondary school pupils in the last two years, the Director of the State Scholarship Board, Mr Elijah Ituma, has said.
Ituma told the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Abakaliki that the beneficiaries were winners of inter-schools debate, quiz, essay, drama and public speech competitions in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic sessions.
“The scholarship grant is designed to encourage the outstanding students in these various categories of competitions.
“Again, the measure is to reward excellence and hard work among students and to further spur them to greater achievements,’’ he said.

The director said the award was part of efforts to deepen reading culture among secondary school pupils as well as enable them to develop their intellectual potentials.
He reiterated government’s determination to ensure that brilliant students were assisted to aspire for greater academic endeavours.
