The Dj Cares Scholarship, organized by Digital Jewels Africa, aims to provide career guidance and financial support to students pursuing IT-related degrees. The scholarship seeks to reduce the number of students dropping out due to financial constraints and encourage academic excellence.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Pursuing an IT-related course of study (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)
- Minimum GPA of 3.75/5 each semester since university enrollment
- Age not exceeding 23 years by October of the application year
- Minimum of 2 years of university education
- English language proficiency (oral and written)
- Two credible references, including one from the current institution
Application Requirements
Eligible students must submit an essay (not exceeding 500 words) on one of the following topics:
- Balancing innovation and security: The Ethical Dilemma of AI-Enabled Deepfakes in information technology and its impact on information security
- Tech Literacy and Its Importance in the 21st Century: Analyzing the importance of tech literacy and its impact on personal growth and opportunities
- My Digital Footprint: Understanding the Impact of My Online Presence: Reflecting on online activities and discussing how digital footprint can affect future education and career prospects

Important Notes
- Relations/wards of Digital Jewels staff or partner/associated companies are not eligible to apply
- Quarterly feedback will be sought from the HOD
- Scholarship may be withdrawn if academic performance, attitude, and value system fall below stipulated expectations after selection/award
- Applicants must not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship scheme
