Friends and family members of a graduate of Mechanical Engineering, of Delta State Polytechnic (Delta Poly), Otefe-Oghara, Delta State, were thrown in a mourning mood after news of his passing was announced.
The deceased identified as Friday Abiligo Orhomre, drowned in a river barely three months after he completed his compulsory national youth service program.
According to reports, he drowned after the speedboat he was traveling in with his mother and siblings capsized in Ughoton River, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, while they were returning from the farm. His mother and siblings managed to swim to the shore.
It was further revealed that divers have begun to search the river to locate his body.
