DELSU Indigent Students Scholarship Program 2023

Delta State University, Abraka under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga, is delighted to invite eligible undergraduate students of Delta State University and of Delta State Origin to apply for the DELSU Indigent Students’ Scholarship Programme.

This programme is part of Delta State University’s Corporate Social Responsibility aimed at providing access to quality education to Deltans. 

About Delta State University (DELSU)

The Delta State University, Abraka – popularly known as DELSU, is a State government university which started with the main campus located at Abraka, and a campus at Anwai, Asaba. With the 1995 Amended Edict, we now have a campus at Oleh. The University runs a multi-campus system with three campuses within a distance of about 200 km apart. Currently, with a student population of about 22,000 (in the 2019/2020 session). Aim and Benefits of DELSU Indigent Students Scholarship Program

  • The Scholarship award covers school fees and third-party payments, such as, INTERKEL only. 

Requirements for DELSU Indigent Students Scholarship Program Qualification

  • Candidates for DELSU-ISSP must be indigent and show evidence of indigency (e.g. history of withdrawal from studies for lack of resources to pay school fees in the past).
  • Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0
  • Personal and Parental circumstances such as ill health, disabilities, unemployment, family challenges will be considered.
  • Candidates who are currently involved in Community Voluntary Services despite their indigency will have an added advantage.
  • Students who are currently enjoying scholarship from the State or other sources are not eligible to apply.
  • 100 level applicants must have chosen Delta State University, Abraka as first choice in JAMB and scored a minimum weighted average of 52 in POST UTME.
