The Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS) at the University of Ghana (UG) is accepting applications for the award of the 2022/2023 German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarships to pursue Master of Arts (MA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Population Studies.

Aim and Benefits of DAAD-RIPS Scholarship
The DAAD scholarship will cover tuition, stipends and accommodation for one-year Master of Arts (MA) and four-year Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students.
Requirements for DAAD-RIPS Scholarship Qualification
DAAD scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who:
- have successfully completed generally a three/four-year university degree for those applying to MA (duration of MA is one year) with above average results of SecondClass Upper Division or equivalent.
- have successfully completed generally one- or two-years MA/MSc./MPH/MFA/MPhil, etc. university degree (for doctoral candidates) with above average results of Second Class Upper Division or equivalent (for First degree)
- clearly show motivation and strong commitment
- have thorough knowledge of the English language
- have generally completed their last university degree not more than 6 years ago at the time of application
- are nationals or permanent residents of a Sub-Saharan African country Women and people working in population-related sectors are encouraged to apply.
