Court ordered the management of the Bayero University Kano (BUK) to reinstate a lecturer that was sacked in 2012 for misconduct
Bayero University Kano has been ordered by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria sitting in Kano to recall Dr. Aminu Abdul Bichi a lecturer of the institution who was dismissed in September 2012 over an alleged misconduct.
It was learnt that Dr. Aminu collected 16million from the City College of Education, Mararaba Guruku, Nasarawa State in the guise of securing affiliation between BUK and the city College of education.

However, the money did not get to the institution which means Dr Aminu could have used the names of the university, its vice chancellor and other principal officers for his personal gains, thereby causing great damage to their reputation.
A committee was afterwards set up to look into the issue which consequently led to the dismissal of Dr. Aminu.
The judge in his ruling said the dismissal was wrong and contravenes the provisions of Section 15 of the BUK Act and BUK Senior Staff Service Conditions and Regulations and ordered that Dr. Aminu be reinstated without loss of salaries and allowances together with his seniority in service with effect from September 28, 2012 when he was dismissed.
